Barrel & Board is the culmination of founder Shannon Perry Taylor’s journey of blending passion with purpose.
What started as a brick-and-mortar shop called Barrel & Board in 2013 has now evolved into a thoughtful and sustainable online brand, dedicated to creating products that transform life’s moments into lasting memories.
Shannon’s love for interior design and travel has always been at the heart of her work. With Barrel & Board, she focused on creating a space that curated unique, environmentally conscious items. However, the demands of running a physical store and a full-time interior design company led Shannon to explore a more balanced solution—one that allowed her to share her vision while providing the flexibility she needed. This solution was the launch of The Experiences project, an online store that brings her passion for design, sustainability, and personal well-being into people’s homes through beautifully crafted candles
The birth of The Experience Project
Shannon’s recent travels, particularly a restorative journey to Scotland, sparked the idea for The Experience—a product line that offers more than just candles. The Experience transports you to places of serenity and connection. These candles are inspired by meaningful life experiences, from travel to personal well-being, allowing you to relive these moments through thoughtfully layered scents.
Whether it’s the calming scents of the Scotland Experience, evoking the peace of lush Highland landscapes, or the Our Home Experience, which promotes clean living with pure, holistic ingredients, Shannon’s mission with The Experience is clear: to provide a sensory journey that enhances both your home and your life.
